Standard steel corner castings

Standard steel corner castings are manufactured according to the standardised dimensions for ISO corner castings. These dimensions are defined by ISO 1161, ensuring compatibility with commonly used equipment for lifting, stacking and securing containers.

They are the traditional choice for containers, repairs and custom-built steel structures. They can be welded directly to the structure, enabling the use of standard lifting, stacking and securing solutions.

The corner castings are available untreated or with primer. The primed version has a protective base coating and is ready for further surface treatment.

Aluminium corner castings – when weight needs to be reduced

Compatible with various types of container equipment

The standardised openings in corner castings allow them to be used with a wide range of handling and securing equipment.

Twistlocks can be used to connect containers vertically, while bridge fittings can connect two containers side by side. Corner castings can also be used with stacking cones, foundation fittings, height adapters and other ISO-compatible container equipment.

Individually or as a complete set

For repairs, only one damaged corner casting may need to be replaced. A complete container structure, however, normally requires a full set of eight corner castings.

A complete set consists of four different types:

• 2 × top right – TR
• 2 × top left – TL
• 2 × bottom right – BR
• 2 × bottom left – BL

Top and bottom corner castings are not identical, so it is important to select the correct version for each position. The castings are marked internally, allowing their intended position in the structure to be identified.
